Travel Tips

Essential travel tips for North and East Sikkim include obtaining Protected Area Permits (PAP) in advance for areas like Nathula, Lachen, and Yumthang, which requires multiple passport-sized photos and ID proofs. Travel via local, registered agencies to manage permits, which are mandatory due to border proximity. Pack warm layers, as high-altitude regions like Gurudongmar Lake and Nathang Valley are extremely cold year-round.
