Travel Tips

March–May: Rhododendrons in bloom and pleasant weather. October–December: Clear skies and excellent mountain views. December–February: Snowfall (road conditions may vary). June–September: Monsoon season; landslides can affect travel Carry a government-issued photo ID. Indian citizens need permits for North Sikkim (including Lachung), usually arranged by local tour operators. Foreign nationals have additional permit requirements. Book North Sikkim tours in advance, especially during peak seasons (March–May and October–December). Keep both digital and printed copies of your ID and travel bookings. Best time to visit March to May: Pleasant weather with blooming flowers. October to December: Clear mountain views and crisp weather. June to September: Heavy rains can cause landslides and road closures. January to February: Snow is possible around Lachung, but roads may occasionally close. Packing essentials Warm layers, even in summer (especially for Lachung). Waterproof jacket and sturdy shoes. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and lip balm (UV exposure is stronger at altitude). Power bank and flashlight. Basic medicines, including medication for motion sickness if you're prone to it. Lachung is at around 2,700 m (8,900 ft). Stay hydrated. Avoid alcohol on your first night at higher altitude. Eat light meals. If you experience severe headache, vomiting, or difficulty breathing, seek medical help immediately. Road travel Roads to Lachung are scenic but winding. Start early, as mountain travel often begins before sunrise. Keep snacks and water in the vehicle. Expect limited mobile connectivity in some stretches. Money Carry sufficient cash, as ATMs become scarce outside Gangtok. UPI works in many places in Gangtok but may be unreliable in remote areas due to poor network coverage. Mobile network Networks work well in Gangtok. Coverage becomes patchy in North Sikkim. Download offline maps before leaving Gangtok. Food Try local specialties such as: Momos Thukpa Phagshapa (for non-vegetarians) Gundruk soup Chhurpi (traditional yak cheese) Responsible travel Don't litter in the mountains. Carry back plastic waste where possible. Respect monastery etiquette—remove shoes where required and ask before photographing monks. Avoid picking alpine flowers or disturbing wildlife

BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS : PAYMENT TERMS: - A non-refundable advance payment of 50% of the total tour cost is mandatory to confirm your itinerary. - 30% of the total cost must be paid upon arrival in Gangtok. - The remaining 20% must be paid prior to departure from Gangtok. Note: Failure to adhere to the payment schedule will result in immediate cancellation of the itinerary without any refund or compensation. All payments must be made in full and on time to ensure uninterrupted services. MANDATORY DOCUMENTATION FOR INDIAN CITIZENS: - One recent passport-size photograph per traveler - Valid ID proof: Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License only - PAN cards and Aadhaar cards are not accepted as valid travel ID - For minors (under 18 years): Birth certificate is mandatory FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS: - Valid passport, visa, and four (4) passport-size photographs - Diplomatic passports or visas are not permitted for entry into Sikkim unless prior clearance is obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) or the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and will be considered effective from the date of receipt by Ease Tours and Treks. - More than 45 days before the tour start date: 50% refund of the total tour cost - 30 to 45 days before the tour start date: 25% refund of the total tour cost - Less than 30 days before the tour start date: No refund under any circumstances Please Note: - No refunds will be provided for cancellations due to natural calamities, political unrest, acts of God, or other force majeure events beyond our control - No refunds will be issued for unused services, early departures, or missed segments of the itinerary - Any eligible refund will be processed within 30 working days from the date of cancellation ADDITIONAL TERMS - Vehicle services are provided strictly on a point-to-point basis and are not at the disposal of the traveler. This means vehicles will drop guests at the hotel or market after completing the scheduled sightseeing. - Ease Tours and Treks reserves the right to amend, modify, or cancel any service without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances or operational constraints
