Trek Description

The Sandakphu Trek is one of the most spectacular and rewarding trekking experiences in the Eastern Himalayas. Situated along the Singalila Ridge on the India–Nepal border, Sandakphu stands at an altitude of 3,636 meters (11,930 feet), making it the highest point in West Bengal. The trek offers breathtaking panoramic views of the world's highest mountain ranges, including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu, all visible from a single viewpoint.

The trail passes through the pristine forests of Singalila National Park, renowned for its rich biodiversity, rhododendron blooms, magnolias, orchids, and rare wildlife such as the Red Panda. During spring, the hillsides burst into vibrant colors as thousands of rhododendrons flower across the landscape.

One of the trek's most famous attractions is the magnificent view of the Kanchenjunga massif, popularly known as the "Sleeping Buddha" because of its unique silhouette resembling a reclining Buddha. Trekkers also enjoy walking through charming Himalayan villages, crossing between India and Nepal, and experiencing the warm hospitality and culture of local mountain communities.

Daywise Itinerary

Day 1: NJP/Bagdogra to Manebhanjan

Drive: NJP/Bagdogra → Manebhanjan (5-6hrs via Siliguri). Overnight stay in Manebhanjan or nearby homestay.

Day 2: Manebhanjan to Tumling

Trek ~11 km (5–6 hrs) via Meghma. Stay in Tumling (Nepal side), enjoy Kanchenjunga views.

Day 3: Tumling to Kalipokhri

Trek ~13 km (6–7 hrs). Pass Gairibas and Kaiyakatta. Overnight at Kalipokhri village near the sacred black lake.

Day 4: Kalipokhri to Sandakphu

Trek ~6 km (3–4 hrs, steep ascent). Reach Sandakphu (3,636 m). Sunset view of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga.

Day 5: Sandakphu to Srikhola

Trek ~15 km downhill (6–7 hrs). Pass Gurdum village. Stay in Srikhola by the river.

Day 6: Srikhola to Rimbik, drive back to Siliguri

Trek ~7 km (3 hrs) to Rimbik. Drive back to Siliguri/NJP/Bagdogra (6–7 hrs). Trek ends.

Terms & Conditions

BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

➡️ 30% advance payment is required to confirm the itinerary.

➡️ 50% of the total tour cost must be paid upon arrival in Gangtok.

➡️ The remaining 20% must be paid before departure from Gangtok.

All payments must be made on time to ensure smooth travel arrangements. Failure to comply may result in cancellation without refund.

CANCELLATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Cancellations must be submitted in writing and will be effective from the date of receipt.

➡️ More than 45 days before tour start date: 50% refund of total tour cost.

➡️ 30–45 days before tour start date: 25% refund of total tour cost.

➡️ Less than 30 days before tour start date: No refund will be provided under any circumstances.

No refund will be provided in case of natural calamities, acts of God, political unrest, or any other force majeure events beyond our control.

Note: The vehicle operates on a point-to-point basis and is not at disposal.
